FROM A RUSSIAN FAN SITE:
The Band The R.I.W. (formed - 1985) is the U.S. band which played very impressive guitar gothic music with female vocals; in terms of influences I could say that Requiem in White is where The Cure and Dead Can Dance meet - the influences of these two giants can be heard quite clearly. They have a very small discography, but actually the band played for 10 years. During that time they were never into "self-promotion", no interviews and a very limited, only local touring... The song-writing was shared between three members of R.I.W. - Eric A. Hammer (guitars) and Lisa Hammer (vocals) (both now are at Mors Syphilitica) and Christopher Walsh (now at Judith). There were several drummers in the history of the band and Javier Madariaga was the last one before the band (unfortunately...) broke up at 199[4].

FROM SOFTPEDIA.COM:
- Romantic, emotional and very aesthetically pleasing music - Requiem in White were an art gothic ensemble from the From the first opening track 'Everlasting Peace' with its middle eastern tribal drumming and pulsating bass lines, followed by the dark and hard hitting "Santonin Kiss", you are given the impression that Requiem in White have not simply recorded music but created a very worthy piece of art that is...different. Not unlike the more accessible Mors Syphilica, standout tracks include the sensual walz-step rock of "Centuries" and the almost ethereal "Acanthus". The most similar counterpart album to this would be either MS's "Primrose" or Clan of Xymox's more ethereal efforts on past albums. This album is recommended, but it is hard to find unfortunately. Recommended songs: "A Fixed Place of Heaven" , "Acanthus" , "Centuries". ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------
- A Masterpiece of Sound - If you can get your hands on a copy of this cd it would behoove you greatly to do so while you still can! An early project of Eric and Lisa Hammer, (now calling themselves Mors Syphilitica), Requiem In White are perhaps the epitome of 'musical esoterica'. The heavy percussion and crunching guitar arrangements provide a most interesting backdrop for Lisa's classically operatic voice. A work produced solely of emotion, free from commercial restraints, it doesn't get any more real than this. From ballads such as "Centuries" to the white~knuckled, stright forward goth rock of "La Perdida de un Encanto Infantil", and even classical pieces like "C.F.", the intensity never stops for a moment, creating a soundscape that stirs the soul.
