Initiated in 2005, Oligarchy (pronounced as OLI-GA-KHEY) broke into the underground scene with grunge rock. Eversince their first taste of the stage, their sound has been put to heavy experimentation. An experiment they'll embrace.
The cohesion between the trio's different musical interests created a sound. That sound is called “post-grunge/alternative rock†in which songs are more melodic, whilst keeping the familiar grunge simplicity and sound. With that, Oligarchy has been serving the local society with a healthy dose of it.
With over 4 years of onstage experience in the underground scene, Oligarchy holds countless of sweaty stage experience and a huge array of original work. Performing stages in the heartlands (Boon Lay, Nee Soon, Hougang, Kovan) to the city (DXO, The Arts House, *Scape Youth Park and Orchard Road) “Oligarchy†definitely have made their presence marked. Wearing their hearts on their sleeves and musical equipments, do expect high-energy on-stage musical expression.
