I am a 30 year old female sax player living and working in the UK. I am the manager and architect of Funkify (website at www.funkify.co.uk) as well as being one third of the band’s brass section on alto sax. I am also a member of Bitchin' Brass (website at: www.bitchinbrass.co.uk)I encompass a wide range of styles including jazz, blues, pop/rock, funk, soul and original material. My repetoire ranges from JTQ style harmonized funk rifs within the Funkify brass section, through creative jazz and blues solos over all the real book standards, to haunting ethereal solos in the beautiful original works by Katie Buckhaven. I am also a professional recording artist, having played saxophone and flute on Katie Buckhaven’s acclaimed first album simply titled “Katie Buckhaven.” I have played in the Battle Of the Bands competition twice, each time making it to the semi-finals - the first time with my funk band, Canvas, in London in 1998 and more recently with the Katie Buckhaven band in 2004.I live for music and wherever I am, you can be sure I will continue playing, performing and writing.
