Kristabai connects. She connects with people. She connects with herself. This 24 year old singer/songwriter from a small town on the Eastern part of Norway brings intimacy where ever she plays. But that´s not all she does. Even before she could read, she could twirl on her toes, and has been dancing ever since. And maybe it was the fact she started writing poetry in math class, because somehow she is able to formulate more than just music. It´s life. Rarely do you find such crafted poetry in todays music. Far from a "perfect pop" sensation, Kristabai takes you into her life, her experiences, her relationships, freedoms and fears - all over a light accoustic background. In the fall of 2001, Kristabai packed her bags and moved across the country, where she started doing a number of living room concerts, and small cafes. Where ever she plays, the feedback is unanimous - she connects.
ABOUT THE CD:In the Fall of 2005, Kristabai was approached by a friend and up-and-coming producer/artist Byron A. Eggehorn. Byron, originally from Seattle, USA, saw her talent and noticed the solid connection between her, her music, and her audience. He offered to produce a record with her. The two of them collaborated over the course of 6 months, drawing partly from arrangements that her small combo band had put together, and also creating new sonic mixtures. The result was 14 songs in a blend of traditional acoustic and fresh synthetic textures. The tentative project name "Firefly Music" captures everything about the record; intimate setting, natural elements, and some electricity.
