About Me

NINE LIVES ENTERTAINMENT HONESTY, FAIRNESS, INTEGRITY...COMMITMENTNine Lives Entertainment, LLC is a full service management company which provides guidance for artists, writers and producers in all aspects of their careers in entertainment industry. It's principal, Tse Williams, is a well known and well respected industry veteran with over 14 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Throughout her career, Ms. Williams has launched and guided the careers of Platinum dance Diva, Ce Ce Peniston ("Finally"), R&B Crooner JOE, Platinum trio 3LW and Disney's Double Platinum teen phenoms, The Cheetah Girls.Ms. Williams career in music began in 1993. After graduating from prestigious Yale University, Ms. Williams began her professional work life at computer giant IBM. While at IBM, where she held positions in both Systems Engineering and Large Account Marketing, Ms. Williams earned the respect of her customers and peers and numerous sales awards from her superiors. In her spare time, she also pursued her burgeoning interest in the aspiring recording artists in her neighborhood in Newark, Jersey, helping to finance their demo tapes and working as a manager. However, it was not until a chance meeting with then Director for A&R for Capitol Records, Kenny Ortiz, that Ms. Williams decided to pursue in earnest, what had heretofore been a hobby, a career in music. After their first meeting at an industry event and the countless discussions about songs and artists that followed, Mr. Ortiz convinced Ms. Williams that with her unique combination of academic and professional skills and innate musical sensibilities, she could be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Armed with his belief in her, Ms. Williams took the bold step of leaving IBM, where she had advanced to the level of Account Manager, and accepting an entry level position in the A&R Department at RCA Records in New York.RCA proved to be an excellent training ground in the fundamentals of A&R. Ms. Williams learned the mechanics of the recording making process and once again, gained the favor of her co-workers and the artists with whom she worked. They also became aware of something Kenny Ortiz had already known, that she was extremely direct, determined and focused. These traits became most apparent when Ms. Williams resigned her position at RCA, to become the full time manager of an artist she had been developing while at RCA, Ce Ce Peniston. Undeterred by her employers lack on interest in Ce Ce, Ms. Williams simply approached another label, A&M, with her young dance diva, and the rest is, shall we say, history. Ce Ce Penistons, Gold plus A&M debut album, spawned such Top Ten hits as Inside That I Cried, Keep On Walkin, and the international smash and dance classic Finally.Ms. Williams success with Ce Ce caught the attention of several companies who were looking for bright young aggressive executives to fill positions. Once such company was independent publishing giant, Zomba Music. After amicably parting ways with Ms. Peniston, Ms. Williams accepted the position of Creative Manager in Zombas New York office. While visiting a studio, Ms. Williams met an aspiring artist named Joe Thomas and quickly turned this meeting into another opportunity. JOE, as he is now known to his legions of fans, was quickly signed by Ms. Williams to Zomba Music Publishing. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Williams partnered with her sister and songwriter, Michele Williams, to manage JOEs career as an artist. This partnership lasted for seven years. During that time, the two Ms. Williams guided JOE to a record deal with Mercury and Jive Record labels, 2 multiplatinum albums and the No. 1 most played record of 2000 I Wanna Know (which incidentally, Michele Williams co-wrote with JOE).After what Ms. Williams jokingly calls a brief vacation from her home at Zomba/Jive, (she spent a year at Giant Records as Director of A&R and Publishing), Ms. Williams was courted by Universal Records President, Monte Lipman to become a part of their creative team. She was hired by Universal Records in Jan. 2002 as Vice President of A&R. In May of 2004, Ms. Williams resigned her post at Universal to focus on working with her Nine Lives Entertainment company on a full time basis. She is currently managing 3LW (Nine Lives/So So Def/Zomba) and preparing for the release of) their 3rd studio LP which features production by JD (Mariah Carey), Rich Harrison (Beyonce, Amerie) and Dre & Vidal (Chris Brown, Ciara). In addition to 3LW, Nine Lives Entertainment, in partnership with Inbtween Entertainment, manages the career of Disney superstars The Cheetah Girls, who'se 2nd movie and LP is set for release in August 2006. Other artists include 19yr old R&B singing sensation J. Spears.
