Burncell started out in the small town of Ocean Shores WA with drummer Jay VanGundy, guitarist vocalist Skyler Warne and guitarist Colin Black. Some time after that Curt offered to play bass and the band played it's first show. Then after a series of events, fate brought keyboardist Aaron Cain and percussionist Nathan Brockman in the picture and the band started to take form. Colin soon left the band due to complications in scheduling, and the band was left stranded without the second guitarist. Then Jesse Blue, an excellent guitarist from Hoquiam WA stepped up to fill the spot with his thrash and death influences. The shredding duo of Skyler and Jesse was born. After recording their first cd "A Tooth From the Dying" another problem emerged and the band parted with drummer Jay VanGundy in 2004. The members of the band knew that Colin was the man to be the new drummer for Burncell and he made the decision to rejoin the band.
