ShotSlinga aka Big Sling has been on hip-hop since his dad first bought him the Whistle (Just Buggin) 7" sometime in the 80s. He started writin lyrics aged about 11 and has been on and off since then. In 96 he moved to South Africa and hooked up with the Audio Visual fam, Krook'd, Kaptin My Kaptin and Snazz da Dictator, the illest underground scene J-Sect (Johannesburg) had ever seen! At the same time he was droppin rhymes over drum n bass, Mcing for Mampi Swift, Ed Rush and Aphrodite amongst others, but always with a hip hop influence. He returned to England four years later and linked up with Baron Samedi to drop their infamous Mandroids demo. Since then he's dropped a couple verses on Baron's first solo album and the first Undercurrent album, V.E.X's first album Contact Day and both of his M.H.P mixtapes. Hes currently to be seen on U and Base spittin on his cousin Jimi Whispaz track Friendly Fire with Keelow from Ammo, Luca and Imperial. You can hear him under the name 'Ironeye' on The All Time Greats CD on the track Victims of Deceit produced by Jack Baker Trio and Sammy J. Next you can hear him on the forthcoming single Appetite For Apertures produced by Sammy J, the forthcoming Same Brain mixtape, V.E.X's MHP3 The Relapse and Crucifix and Redmaster's respective debut releases. You can see Slings lyrics in the soon to be released UK hip-hop movie Life n Lyrics and he is constantly on the move with new ideas relating to film and camerawork. Cameras play a big part of Sling's spitting philospophy as evidenced by some of his solo subject matter.
