About Me

howdy folks!
johnny t. here welcoming you to my page. here's the short version of my story.
grew up in staten island ny. the middle son of three boys from two hardworking italian american parents. was a paper boy for 7 years, worked at a record store in the staten island mall. spent a lot of time on the jersey shore soaking in lots of great music and many incredible bruce shows. got a good humanities, arts and business education at NYU. moved to manhattan and shared an apartment with my good ol' friend sean from high school. worked in a bank for many years. got some more business education at columbia. throughout it all i wrote songs every night that were mostly kept in boxes under my bed.
i got the opportunity to manage a hard rock band, american popular, as a side labor of love project. they helped me take 12 of my songs and record a pop rock album "eventually." what a dream is was to make an album and play "rock star" in the studio!
got myself laid off (woo hoo!) from the banking job with a year's severance and traveled the country with my musician cousin joey. made the big move to nashville to live the country life and pursue the dream of working in the music industry.
now i write songs, host shows and am the web dude at two radio stations, mix 92.9 and 96.3 JACK-fm. sometimes i usher at the legendary ryman auditorium...and i once was the oldest intern at the hatch show print shop.
I am also quite proud of an amazing independent music initiative, music city unsigned, that i co-created with jon dicus and occasionally host. check it out: http://www.musiccityunsigned.com
you can also check out my some recent demos by my co-writer chad nygaard and a few tracks that appeared on "eventually." if you like what you hear and want to support the songwriting cause, you can find my songs at itunes or cdbaby.com.
i'm currently compiling my second collection of twelve songs on an album (that i fondly refer to as "the vanity project") titled "the road to somewhere", which will be out...well, hopefully at some point this year after i finish my vocals. I'm so not the singer, but hey it sure is fun!
Cheers!
