Formed in 2005, this Fort Worth-based band has been steadily building up a fan base throughout the metroplex. The band (Jordan Burchill – vocals, guitar; Klint Stallons – vocals, fiddle, guitar; Derek Allen – bass; Jordan O’Leary – drums) has been described as "truly worth checking out” with "live shows that are fun, full of energy, and will stick with you for a long time after it's done."
Originally formed to play worship music at their church, it’s no secret that the band has been gaining attention across North Texas and beyond with their pop-infused originals. Being labeled as “definitely a band to watch as they explode on the scene in the upcoming years,” they have headlined at local clubs and events such as The Door, Ridglea Theatre, Taste of Addison, Mayfest, Wildflower Arts Festival, the Fort Worth Music Festival, and First Friday of Phoenix. Opening for local and major acts such as Forever The Sickest Kids, Green River Ordinance, Cute Is What We Aim For, As Tall As Lions, and many other bands already established in the music world has put them in front of a variety of audiences. With plenty of awards to show for their hard work, like the “People’s Choice Award” at Mayfest 2007, one of “Top 10 Acts Under the Age of 20” at the Taste of Addison, and landing the number 2 spot at the Fort Worth Music Festival, (where 100+ nationally ranked bands had just recently performed at SXSW, a well-known arts festival held in Austin, Texas annually), they have been grabbing the attention of companies throughout the music industry.
Most recently, the band has been drafted as one of the featured acts of The eXtreme Tour, a national outreach tour. They have also been invited to perform a showcase at Rocketown in Nashville during the Gospel Music Association week. With their latest single Straight Up G set to release in March, this band is “anything but one-hit-wonder-ish.” The band won the prestigious North Texas Battle of the Bands held at the University of North Texas with their second single Losing Me and was able to record the song and a promotional video on board the John Lennon Tour Bus, a mobile recording studio. Their song Let’s Feel It was recorded with Ohio-based Pendlwood Studios, and proved to be the career-decision maker for the band.
Although still at a young age, The J. Walkers’ experience and knowledge of music is that of professionals. They have been highly regarded by many who are involved with the music industry.
