Red Yellow England

About Me

Red Yellow England mixes the new wave feel with old fashion rock n roll. The Ronkonkoma trio keeps a seemingly outdated format of simply guitar, bass, and drums to deliver their danceable brand of rock. Forming in the summer of 2004 from a mutual boredom of contemporary music and a lust for something different other than the Long Island scene; Alex, Dave and Brent began Red Yellow England. With huge leaps back and forth over the line of simplicity and complexity, Red Yellow England has learned that it is possible to play innovative, edgy, dance rock and still maintain an indie-pop sensibility.Life on Long Island isn't an easy one, unfortunately you have to balance, work, school, social life, and music. Among this tough juggling act, Brent found his way to Oswego (and later Manhattan) to pursue schooling, Alex works full time to support himself as well as part time college, and Dave recently acquired a BA from Stony Brook and is currently engaged. Due to Brents pursuit of scholastics the band was put on hold. Alex found time to pursue solo/acoustic gigs in order to keep the music alive. Good friend, Jay (The Radio Spirit) was helping for quite some time rounding the bass duties in order to keep the band afloat. It wasn't until early 2007 that close friend of many years, Joey P., stepped up for the full time bass duties to bring Red Yellow England back from musical purgatory. Red Yellow England is back in full force with a long overdue collection of recordings entitled "Two Colours, And A Country". Not just "that opening band" anymore, Red Yellow England is a "no bullshit band from Ronkonkoma" and will continue to make friends, fans, and memories.
