About Me

Une biographie en francais, atomisée, granularisée( shake your brain, it will eventually come up right !) Emmanuel is a Paris born sound artist and experimental musician who studied at GRM in the field of musique concrete. He also studied sound engineering and attended a cinema school. His aesthetic and direction as a composer originate from a desire to give the listener a shifting or blurred perception of composed soundscapes. Musical experiments with sound-field materials or objects and instruments are undertaken within the intuitive and dynamic stream of unconscious brain stimulations. Some of his collaborations or improvisations yielding patterns or structures, but most of the time, the musical flux lingers on in his works. His tropism towards sound scapes, sound sculpting and gathering of spatials tools for composition, provides him with a better understanding and perception of sound, as a vector for social awareness and wisdom. In this domain, field recordings foster a diverse array of expressions, the most remarkable being Framework radio show. His electroacoustic works are played in festivals in France and Italy, where he has been finalist of the Udine international competition. He performs in solo concerts and with fellow musicians, has collaborations with Buto dancers, video artists, photographers. He also performs with the innovative laptop group CLSI, in Paris.
