About Me

Devious ::
    Not straightforward; shifty: a devious character.
    Departing from the correct or accepted way; erring: achieved success by devious means.
    Deviating from the straight or direct course; roundabout: a devious route.
    Away from a main road or course; distant or removed.

Our first deviation was the premiere of HEART SHAPED VINYL by John Morton (or deviously Billy Shears) and it ran from Tuesday 22nd August to Thursday 24th August in Cleere's Theatre Kilkenny.
We could call it a romantic musical comedy but that's just too general... maybe a theatrical mixed tape?
HEART SHAPED VINYL returned to Cleeres Theatre to critical acclaim and four sell out shows in the summer of 2007 when it ran from 27th to 30th of June.
We were also proud to host the Irish stage premiere of Trey Parker's CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL. From the writer of South Park and Team America you'd expect a pretty raucous un-PC tale and that's what it was. It tells the gruesome true story of Alferd Packer, the first man in US history convicted of cannibalism... interspersed with rollicking song and dance numbers! Directed by Ken McGuire and Kevin Mooney, this violently funny production premiered in the Watergate Theatre, Kilkenny from August 22nd to 26th 2007.
Our next performance was the stage adaptation of Irvine Welsh's seminal novel TRAINSPOTTING, adapted by Harry Gibson, in the Watergate Theatre Kilkenny, from June 24th - 28th 2008. We chose theatre.
Our next premiere was SMITTEN by John Morton, a series of tragicomic stories set in Kilkenny City over a rainy summer. It ran from August 20th - 23rd 2008 in The Barn, Church Lane, Kilkenny. It played to sold out crowds every night and we were pleasantly surprised.
On October 30th 2008 we unveiled a new radio version of HG Wells sci-fi classic THE WAR OF THE WORLDS on KCLR96FM. It was broadcast 70 years to the date of Orson Welles famous adaptation on October 30th 1938. Keep watching the skies.
