Biography
Electronic music is his playground: Beats can shift, bass can shiver and all this excitement is generated by the love to club music. Jakob Bagterp, aka Kobbe, started DJ'ing in 2000 at the Intercosmos Festival 01 in hometown Aalborg alongside Jazzanova and Xploding Plastix. The following year he settled in Copenhagen as a music student and quickly gained access to spin at local bars and cafés.
What started out as rare grooves and nu jazz soon evolved to an electronic profile. Nowadays Kobbe's sets trigger minimal house, electro-shocks, techno, bits/bytes, and of course club classics. Always keeping it deep, warm, and energetic - this trademark sound still sticks.
While perfecting the beat Kobbe entered the Copenhagen club arena and joined the local DJ heros. Prominent clubs such as Culture Box, Rust, Nadsat, Cafe Riga and Stereobar soon became Kobbe's busy playing field in the 'belle époque' of Copenhagen clubbing culture. Now he's resident DJ at Barbarellah and was invited to play at Copenhagen Jazz Festival (2004), Vesterbro Festival (2005+2006) and the Swedish Nordberg Festival (2006).
Internationally he has also visited NBI in Berlin, underground parties in Den Haag, and played at several radio shows: Roskilde Festival Radio, Audio Nongrata @ Livesets.com, Radio XFM, and Tweak FM.
The club Electronics is Kobbe's brainchild. It has has toured from venue to venue with varying guests from the Copenhagen DJ brigade, ever since it started in the basement of the illegal Smugbar. With vinyl cases, a mixer and two turntables packed in a taxi, he has often hosted parties at the most seductive and sleazy joints in Copenhagen. 1-2-3-4... Let's go!
