I wanted to make a place for all of the real-world information and news about the issues most important to me and close to my heart. The internet has opened my eyes over the past 10 years to what goes on outside our own tiny world. It has helped me to realize just how precious and fragile our earth and our people are. The things I have read and the people I have spoken to have taught me how similar we all are and how each of us can help in our own way.
It kills me how what we had to live for when we were born -such a short time ago- is now slipping away. Our world in recent years has seemed to be crumbling in many ways around our feet. If you don't live in a third-world country, you may not have noticed among the constant forward march of commerce, politics, and self-fulfillment. Poverty, genocide, war, famine, and the violation of basic human rights is happening every day. Every day we also lose unique, beautiful species of plants and animals and thousands of acres of habitat forever. In our own country we are even moving backwards, civil rights… womens rights… and social activist leaders of the past would be appalled at how far we have NOT come by now. Democracy is quickly becoming just a veil for one with absolute power, and fear is being used like a gun pointed to our heads to keep the people quiet. Its happening everywhere, and as part of the 'future' and the younger generations we should be aware and work to make the world a place we will want to live in and pass on to our children.
This is a place to start to open you mind and heart to what is really happening out there.
