About Me

Initially influenced by the tennis racquet, Jon's musical adventure began early on. From a young age he was often found miming along to such classic artists as Rick Astley, Michael Bolton and Shakin' Stevens eventually becoming a certified virtuoso on racquet and getting a signature model and endorsement deal with Slazenger. The fairytale soon turned sour however, and after an apple juice and "SuperTed" multi-vitamin fuelled bender he smashed the racket in a fit of rage, Jon needed help and rehab was the only way forward...After a nap, he finally decided to take up music properly and began learning the recorder at primary school, eventually reaching the dizzy heights of grade 2. At age 10 he took up the guitar, studying both classical and electric through his school years, electric eventually becoming his main love. After school he studied for a BA in jazz, graduating in 2006 with a First Class Honours and obtaining knowledge along the way from guitar tutors Mike Outram and Carl Orr whilst also gaining experience in various ensembles around London and the South East.As a side note, Jon was a finalist in Guitarist magazines nationwide competition Young Guitarist of the Year, getting down to the last six in 1998.
