My name is DJ Av one, Av for short. I am from the Chicago land area and have been a part of the Hip Hop culture (real Hip Hop) since breakdancing in school hallways in 96. From breakdancing I became involved in another main element of Hip Hop, graffiti. I remained a very active writer until my unlawful arrest and beating by none other than the fine officers of the Chicago Police Department. Facing over 100 criminal vandalism charges I decided it was time to express myself in one of Hip Hops other elements, and purchased my first turntable and mixer from one of my best friends, Ervin Regalado. After about a year of messing with vinyl and manipulating my own sounds I moved to Madison, WI in pursuit of a Recording degree which was successfully obtained in May 08. Along the way I befriended Hutch the Human Beatbox and soon after formed the Break Brothers. After many shows, benefits, and contest winnings with Hutch and Ra Fury, we all established ourselves as key players in the Madison Hip Hop scene.
Now I am back in the Chicago area where I grew up, and have continued honing my skills. I have an EP that is almost finished that will be available soon, and a wonderful baby girl. My career is just getting started and you will undoubtedly hear more and more from me as the years push on. I'm just getting started.----------------------------------------------------
