life handed us a paycheck, we said WE WORKED HARDER THAN THIS!!!!!!?!

About Me

i love my bike. i love my friends. i love my folks and family. i love my dreads. i love my school. i love my life. i love going to class. i love not working. i love networking. i love puppy parades. i love hot weather. i love nostalgia. i love whole grains. i love falafel. i love the river. i love living in the future. i love being twenty-one. i love uncontrollable urges. i love dancing like a fool. i love learning cool things. i love boys. i love sin. i love New England. just don't ask me what i hate because you don't have that kind of time.

My Interests

Guitar, cussing, visiting friends, thumb wars and rock paper scissors. Fat beats and loud music. Fuck yes I like to dance naked in front of a mirror. I've got this thing for maps and learning where roads can take you. I like staying in shape and being active...biking, running, working out, canoeing, kayaking. I get deja vu a lot. i like prose, but hate poetry. I like gettin past that akward phase when you've made a new friend. I've been known to smell things, and often I rip leaves from various shrubs and trees and shred them into a million pieces. It gives me great pleasure. Photoshop is fun. Photography is pretty kickass too. I like art and junk. I love things that take time.

I'd like to meet:

people who believe in wabi sabi terrence mckenna, if he were still alive all my old boyfriends now that i'm so succexy nobody off of myspace, that's for damn sure

Music:

NPR!!! KTSW 89.9 is my boyfriend!! Punk is good. Bouncing Souls, Guttermouth, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, Pennywise, old school AFI. I never stopped liking Tsunami Bomb, even though technically they're pirate pop punk. However, I've been informed that punk is dead, and I'll be damned if I get caught up in that hardcore-fashioncore-metalcore-emo-screamo bullshit. I like either chill music or music that gets me pumped. I've been digging a lot of underground lately, all the best stuff is the shit that isn't played on the radio. Sublime, of course, they're universal. System of a Down can do me no wrong. Radiohead recently rocked my world. Placebo! They're so annoying but I love them TO DEATH. Gorillaz - music engineered for stoners. Blur - Gorillaz's predessesor; fucking beautiful. Eve 6, Franz Ferdinand, Deftones, Killers, Flaming Lips, Third Eye Blind, Sneaker Pimps, Bloodhound Gang, Black Eyed Peas, NIN, Rufus Wainwright, Elephant, Offspring, APC, Tool, Metric, Goldfrapp, Postal Service, Death Cab, 311, Snow Patrol, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, RJD2, Gypsie Kings, DJ Vadim, Portishead, Sugar Ray... The radio gets on my nerves, but I do enjoy The Next Big Thing with Andy Langer. Obscure bands are the best. Orange Range, Maritime, White Rabbits, Mum, The Most Serene Republic, Sea and Cake, Five Iron Frenzy and Flyleaf from Belton Texas (I don't give a care if they're both Bible-huggers, thems some good tunes, yhear?) Grandaddy, The Thermals, John Vanderslice, Abandoned Pools, The Shins, Ben Kweller, Every Other Fate, I Love You but I've Chosen Darkness, The Frames, The Faint, Angelfish, Bloc Party, Zykos, Jack Off Jill, and The Vandals. Everybody who has ever played or will play ACL. I can't get enough of Japanese and Indian pop music. The Bend it like Beckham Soundtrack is one of my favorites. I like Billie Holiday, Grouch and Eligh, the Roots, Lucinda Williams, The Black Crowes, Hendrix, most classical, ANY jazz. And of course, my all-time perpetual favorite band, Garbage. I'll have Shirley Manson for my wife one day.

Movies:

I cannot watch horror or torture movies, they make me sick to my stomach; I like any animated or Disney movies, and documentaries too (especially documentaries on underwater creatures :) Four Rooms, Hitchhiker's Guide, Brazil, Idle Hands, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Stranger than Fiction, Happy Campers, Happenstance, The Last Unicorn, The Labryinth, A Mighty Wind, Best in Show, Suburbia, Amelie, SLC Punk, Can't Hardly Wait, Clueless, Monty Python, Garden State, But I'm a Cheerleader, Eternal Sunshine, Rocky Horror, Sin City, Spirited Away, Tremors, Ghost World, Pulp Fiction, Bongwater, Army of Darkness, Fantasia 2000, Waterworld, The Curve, Thirteen Ghosts, Dish Dogs, Hackers (Matthew Lillard, yes please!), Party Monster, NAPOLEON DYNAMITE HELLS YA, and anything by Kevin Smith (except Jersey Girl - what the hell was he thinking?) And all the other movies people my age typically like...except Requiem for a Dream - i fucking HATED that shit.

Television:

PBS: Nova, Nature, british comedies (Flying Circus, Mr. Bean, Are you Being Served?). Crime dramas! I love them! CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, Criminal Minds, Without a Trace, all that good stuff. I love cartoons, old-school and new. Billy and Mandy, yeah. Does anybody remember that old TV show called Dinosaurs, with baby Sinclair, and he's all "I'm the baby, gotta love me!" If you're my soul mate you'll know what I'm talking about. Adult Swim, Southpark, Spongebob, The Simpsons, Malcolm, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Seinfeld. I like old school shows, like Boy Meets World, Step by Step, Fresh Prince, Roseanne, and Family Matters. And yes, Friends, I don't care what you say, it's a moderately entertaining show and it's better than Everybody Loves Raymond.

Books:

Jurassic Park, the Lost World, Bill the Galactic Hero, Salad Days, Memoirs of a Geisha, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Dogbreath Victorious, Jitterbug Perfume, Tangerine, The Food of Love, Jimwamba, The Great Gatsby, The Broke Diaries, Stargirl, Galactarena, Hank the Cowdog, The Gospel According to Larry (highly recommended), and all the Harry Potter books. Yeah, I don't care if they're for kids. I'll have you know I read the first three books six months before they were published in the U.S., so I've been old-school liking them and all those little kids are just posers.
