Friends of the G-String

About Me

Recently: Hey, hey, there’s a new name in the game: Now that the G-String thing changed from a project to a band with real players we decided to give it a fresh start - check out the new site at MySpace:
But even though it seems that the G-String project is part of the past, it’s meant to last - at least here at MySpace. And for those who want to know more about it, either check the Friends of the G-String website or read this:
Who would call a band Friends of the G-String? The name’s too long, it’s cheesy ... somehow and ... yes of course and there a probably another 50 reasons why you shouldn’t name your band like this. But you know what - who cares? I know tons of reasons why you shouldn’t throw your McDonalds waste out of your car window, but people still do it. And don’t get me wrong, chosing silly band names doesn’t qualify me for throwing my $%1t out of the car.
Ok, enough bla bla ;-) ...
The F.o.t.G-S thing didn’t really start as a "band". Former Reardon guitarist JK - yep it’s me, just sounds so incredibly professional in 3rd person - got bored and tracked down a few songs for his old buddy Dr. Beat to contribute music to his Windsurfing Kamasutra DVD production. Initial idea was to do everything alone. From writing to playing to singing to recording and mixing and whoknowswhat... but some of the other old Reardon band members joined the club and added a few guest tracks on F.o.t.G-S.
One thing led to another - as always, I know ... - and I ended up with another album, giving me the opportunity to add two previously unreleased Reardon tracks on this thing. I mean, I wrote these songs, I recorded them, Matt added vocals and I was happy to have a least 2 songs with a real voice..
Oh and by the way, in case you haven’t heard Matt’s voice yet - check out myspace.com/reardonrock or visit reardon-music. com - it’s worth it! Matt, I wish you all the best, bro and thinkin’ of the shows we played together makes me proud!
Meanwhile over here, the F.o.t.G-S project seems to became a band, a 2nd release is in the making, the future’s bright :-) and chances are the name gets a little more serious
Cheers, Joern
And for all the moving pictures addicts here comes a little Windsurfing Kamasutra teaser, featuring F.o.t.G-S’s Ride for the Summer:
If you like what you hear, here’s a great way to spend some of your hard earned cash:
