“Hands down one of the dopest party rockers on the left coast.”
Being born and raised in Washington in the early 80’s, Money D has been afforded the opportunity to experience all types of music and that is clearly evident when he takes center stage and starts rockin’ a crowd with his keep your body movin’ non-stop style of music.
It all started in 2001 when Money D took his love for music and started to share it with others. He began as a mobile DJ, performing at weddings, school dances, and corporate parties; wherever he could land a gig he was there. Over time, as you can imagine, that became mundane and performing at a club is where Money D knew he belonged. It would come with some consequences however. The more gigs he landed at nightclubs, the more he stayed at home and practiced, the more he stayed home and practiced, the less he bothered to show up for work, and with that he was asked to never show up to work again… A week later, Money D landed his first residence at a local sports bar, 3 nights a week.
Since then Money D has been full throttle, holding residencies all over the greater Seattle area. Some of his career highlights are opening for hip hop legends such as Twista, Scarface, E40, and Tech N9ne, spinning for Ghostface Killah, and rocking a crowd of over 3000 while opening for Eve 6. He has also been fortunate enough to be regularly working with several of his favorite local hip hop artists such as Neema, Young Soprano, Mr. Von, and Sonny Bonoho, just to name a few.
His inspiration for continuing in the game is to prove to everyone who told him that he never make a career out of being a DJ that they were wrong. He also loves being behind the tables, looking out and seeing a packed dance floor. Ultimately though, his main inspiration for continuing to excel as a DJ is to support his family by doing something he loves. This is all Money D does, if he isn’t in your club setting up 5 hours before his show starts, or in your club rockin’ a crowd, he is at home working behind those tables to stay at the forefront of the game, day in and day out.
A little peek inside of Money D’s more personal side…
- His favorite DJs include Scene, A-trak, Rocky Rock, and his brother-from-another-mother DJ Harsh.
- His favorite style to spin would be a mixture of Hip Hop, Top 40, with a little old school, and some 80s. He also likes to spin Electro and Baltimore styles when the opportunity presents itself.
- When asked if he could rock a party with any 3 people, who would it be? "My guy Pimp Juice (the 1 club/party host in Seattle!) and my fellow Dope Style DJs Harsh, Cide and Reaction.”
One last note from Scott Dulin, AKA DJ Money D…
"I'm originally from Edmonds and have been here all my life. I live with my girlfriend Bryn and our son Rylan. I'm 26, and ready to rock a party anywhere, anytime. Shout outs to all of my Dope Style DJs and MCs. Also, big ups to Dope Style Clothing, The Art Music, Sweatbox, Milk 'Em Dry, Street Academy, and Goldmine fams."
