The age of 5, then to New Jersey just one year later.
Growing up in mostly urban communities his first influences naturally came from Hip Hop music. In the late 80s and early 90s he already started taking a liking towards DJing by making mixtapes with two tapes decks!
By age 14 (1997) he figured out a way to afford turntables and has been Djing ever since. Originally he started as a battle DJ (aka Turntablist), who wasn't into the commercial party
scene at all, spinning only break beats, old school hip hop and underground hip hop. He gained his early popularity by performing at local battles and putting out his own mix CDs.
By age 17 he scored his first residency at a local night club, he fell in love with the scene, and from there it is all history. By age 18 his name was spreading throughout the tri-state doing guest spots at world famous night clubs like the legendary Club Exit, NYC. By this time he was growing to love all genres of music and began dabling into production. With the crowd pleasing skills of a turntablist and the musical knowledge of a true fan who genuinly appreciates all kinds of music, he easily became a favorite in the New Jersey and New York night club scene. Since then you've probably seen his name on event flyers all across the east coast including the tri state area (NY, NJ), Baltimore, Virginia Beach, down
to Miami. Whether it was him performing as a one man show or alongside some of the
biggest names in the music industry, from your favorite Hip-Hop artists
like Fat Joe or 50 Cent to your favorite House producers like Robbie
Rivera or Oscar G. Not to mention his nationally and internationally
known mix CDs which have even graced the pages of some of your
favorite magazines including The Source Magazine.
For the past 5 Yrs he has been spending more and more time in the studio as a DJ/ producer/remixer, which has helped his career reach new heights. Now not only is he mashing up your favorite hits but also he began producing his own original
music. His style of music he himself calls "a fusion of Hop-Hop/ Rock/
Brazilian Funk/ Miami Bass/ B-More & House", which he claims, "The B-
More, House, Brazilian Funk & Miami Bass make the music automatic to
dance to, and the Rock and Hip-Hop brings that raw edge and realness
to it." "I know it sounds crazy to the regular consumer but anyone who
truly knows music knows those genres all sample from each other
already anyway." "I'm just working on an original style that has
flavors of everything that I love about music along with everything
that makes a crowd go insane that's all", "Its just common sense
really, that should be any good DJ's objective."
Recently, in 2009, him, his manager and other partners began the label Deafinition Music Group (DMG). His first project under the label is Deaf Beats Vol. 1 which was released in 2009's winter music conference in Miami Florida. The CD is a collection of 9 tracks remixed and produced by DJ G-Wiz and falls nothing short of what he promised. It contains a mix of Hip Hop, Brazilian Funk, B-More, and House music that makes the listener instantly want to turn the radio up and keep dancing the entire time. He himself describes the CD as "A fun time", however "It is something we just through out there to test the waters.
