Es una compositora/pianista/cantante que ha sido parte de la escena del rock dominicano desde el 2000, con la desaparecida banda “Daze” donde era la voz principal. Con su direccion principal siendo siempre la musica, se dirige a Berklee College of Music a perfeccionar su musicalidad en el area de Terapia Musical. Su interes y pasion por la composicion la hacen lanzarse como solista en el 2007. Sus dos primeros sencillos “My Way” y “I Know” han dominado la primera posicion del Chart Local en La X 102 por 7 y 10 semanas consecutivas, respectivamente. Estos sencillos no solo han llegado al top del Chart Local, sino tambien a la primera posicion 30 Favoritas Generales de la emisora, convirtiendo a Marlén en la compositora de 2 de las 3 canciones locales en llegar a esta primera posicion. Actualmente se encuentra en Boston, dando los ultimos toques a lo que sera su primera produccion, un EP con 5 temas incluyendo los dos hits ya conocidos. Su musica, llena de emocion y melancolia, combina elementos en vivo y sequenciados, trayendonos un estilo electro/pop. Siendo una de pocas artistas dominicanas solistas, seguro podemos esperar mucho de esta joven.Marlén was born August 27th, 1985 in Santo Domingo. She is a singer/songwriter/pianist who has been a part of the Dominican rock scene since 2000, with the currently inactive band Daze, where she was lead vocals. With her main goal being music, she goes to Berklee College of Music to develop her musicianship studying Music Therapy. Her interest and passion for songwriting lead her to become a solo act in 2007. her first two singles "My Way" and "I Know" dominated the first place in the Local Charts of the X102 radio station, for 7 and 10 weeks each. These singles were 1 not only on the local charts, but also on the General Top 30 Countdown of the station, turning Marlén into the writer and performer for 2 of the 3 only local songs to ever reach this spot.Currently she is in Boston, giving the finishing touches to what will be her first EP with 4 songs, including the previous hits. Her music filled with emotion and melancholy, combines live and sequenced elements, in an electro/pop style. Being one of the few solo female artists of the Dominican Republic, we can surely expect great things from her.
