*MUSIC!!! I've been lucky to always have been surrounded by music. I played piano and bass violin as a kid, but then when I discovered dance I realized that was the best way for me to BE the music... I love all kinds of music from classical to punk rock, but I especially love going to live shows where there is plenty of dancing room!
*DANCE!!! The first time I danced before an audience I felt like I was coming home. I was like a fish that had been out of water all of its life and finally got to swim...
*my son who is off at college now, so no built in dog-sitter!
*my doggies, who are getting fat because mom is so busy
*my friends and family who probably think I've fallen into a parallel dimension where communication is frowned upon...
Isadora Duncan...
"• Art is not necessary at all. All that is necessary to make this world a better place to live in is to love -- to love as Christ loved, as Buddha loved..."
Michael Franti...
"is there love enough?"... I sure hope so!
"I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music..."
George Eliot (1819 - 1880)
This woman had the best quotes! My other favorite of hers is, "It is never too late to be what you might have been..."
"After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music..."
Aldous Huxley (1894 - 1963), "Music at Night", 1931
"If you develop an ear for sounds that are musical it is like developing an ego. You begin to refuse sounds that are not musical and that way cut yourself off from a good deal of experience..."
John Cage (1912 - 1992)
