About Me

Kyra Shaughnessy was raised,home and land schooled in the mountains of the Quebec Eastern townships, which she still considers home despite wandering ways. Kyra has been performing her a'capella & folk music and poetry since the age of 15. In 2007 she was voted among the top 10 Montreal spoken word performers. She has performed her poetry and music across Canada and the states, been featured in various documentary and independent films and done her best to encourage audiences out of apathy into a reality defined by their potential to choose to create social and personal change. She has most recently been published in GirlSpoken, a collection of writing and art by young women in various mediums.
