Gpo "DIRTY JERZEE!!!Kareem Lauren Grant/G'Poetic was born in Newark BrickCity, DIRTY JERZEE!!!Hoodaville section. In his child hood he grew up in a GT, Guyanese household & incoporated a carribean reggae swag to his rap style & songs. Over the years growing up he traveled alot & lived in alot of diffrent city's in the United States going hard on the daily grind for big money.In his early teens he began to record music with the the Legendary group "Kool & The Gang". He signed a deal with Ronald Bell a lead member & executive producer of the band. G'Poetic signed to the GangLand Record label/KTFA Prodution. He worked with groups like the Fugees who were also signed to the same Production company.
In 1996 he released a few singles on his Indi label $traight G'n Records, distributed by Alliance, Inc.
The singles were titled "Nuff Ruffness, BrickCity Blues & Listen 2 da lyric'z. The singles received air play on Hot 97, as well as alot of underground radio shows around the Tri-State area. He released a video for the single "Listen 2 Da Lyrics" that was aired on NYC's legendary show Video Music Box! The video was directed by Zodiac Fishgrease, who at the time worked for Classic Concept Film Production Company, Inc.
The single was a underground smash, but G'poetic was dealing with management issues & conflict's with the producers of the single. So the song did'nt make it to the top where it should have, but that did'nt stop Gpo. He stayed in the major studio's recording over the years with many diffrent producers & in 1999 he signed a deal with NYC's Hit Factory Studio's/Lir..e Records. The company released a mix tape cd titled BrickCitySlika & sold thousands of copies in the streets of NYC, JERZEE & MIA.
In 2002 G'Poetic was featured on a compilation album produced & recorded by Phoenix AZ based gangsta rap label named This Real Records. The album was a underground classic featuring artist from the mid west, south west & the carribean. G'Poetic was then offered a deal to record a album as well as produce music for BopTail Audio/Video Studio Ent. In Hollywood Los Angeles Cali. & it's been big business ever since.Contact For Booking:
