About Me

I have been playing Bluegrass Music since I was 14 years old. I grew up in Silver Spring, MD. I won the Banjo competition at the Galax Fiddlers Convention in 1994, and just last year (2005) my band, Exit 109, won the Bluegrass Band Competition. Galax is the oldest and largest competition in the country. I have recently released my first solo CD entitled "The Way I See It." The response has been phenomenal. I play all of the instruments except fiddle. I was fortunate enought to have Ron Stewart and Rickie Simpkins take care of that. I am singing some, as is Amanda Smith of the Kenny & Amanda Smith Band, Jerry McMillan of the original Lonesome River Band, and a few more of my friends who are great singers. Listen to a few cuts if you have a chance. I am in the process of writing material for the next project. I am writing some Rock & Roll as well. I will only be posting original material here. Let me know what you think. The CD is available on itunes and at CDBaby.comCDBABY LINK for CHRIS BURTON: The Way I See It --
