I've always been with music. Me and music goes back to the the crib where music whispered lullibies in my ear. Speaking of angels and God and of old songs that made scenary sienna and caused eyes to grow old like slave gullies. Me and music have been together since preschool when wheels on the bus goes round and round and old McDonald had a farm but really had a Happy Meal with cheap plastic toys. Yes, me and music go way back. Back to the playground singing Jodeci and Shai and Silk, trying to make little girls' hearts melt. Swinging like a monkey from bars hitting bars that were secularly eclectic, and yet hectic in my approach because me and music were fresh then. Sitting on piano benches reading sheet music through tears wondering why I couldn't understand and then casting it aside and playing Ray Charles and Luther Barnes off of what I remember came from car speakers on warm Sunday mornings. Yes me and music goes back. Hearing A Tribe Called Quest spitting words without eloquence ignited a fire in my spirit for a rebellion of theories in this music ideology that the institution seemed to control me with. If one was able to capture the free spirit of my one love and turn into a drone of sorts, then I would smile and fall in line and become a slave, letting massah know dat dis house is our house and i'd love to do what he'd want me ta do as long as i got my music. BUT YOU CAN'T HOLD ME DOWN!!! CAUSE MUSIC IS NOT SOMETHING TO CONTROL!!!! Yes me and music grew up on the same block, moved on up to the same suburb, fell in love together, felt heartache together, seen death together, been depressed together, me and music has always been together. We both were geeky together with music whispering loudly, directly to me through taped covered headphones and bulky tape players. We got through my awkward years while fingering trumpets, guitar strings, and twirling sticks. Me and music began to experiment heavily with jazz, funk, and classical, while still staying true to the hood with rap and r&b. And when puberty hit for its final round and voice became raspy and low, music backed away gracefully so I could master the art of the freeverse flow and the written world of silent protest literature. Yes music and I go back. We go back to the days where we would jam for hours we b-boppers and flow masters battling in cafeterias to keys played on old Yamahas and beats made by my mouth. Fruityloops came and changed the game and I realized I could create symphonies with clicks of a mouse and my own musical mind. I began to realize that people felt I knew what I was doing and wanted me to be on their album. Music and I now work long nights procreating and giving birth to musical offspring with my signature, my sound, my DNA all over the child. Music and I are married and I love her more than anything and me and music will always be together. Me and music.... PRODUCER SURVEY
