His Lost Boys

About Me

His Lost Boys - Travelling through unknown territory (or unfamiliar at least) hoping to add some colour to the ageing 60s concrete eyesores strewn across our towns. Life is more often than not drab and complicated enough without extra weights being added to your shoulders; we all need some departure from the necessity of the chores that bind our weeks.Ben Bailey continues his musical exploration is now the jingle in His Lost Boys' jangle. Stef Benson contributes the low blows backed up by Lewis providing all manner of percussion from the sublime to the thunderous.Call it indie, blues, r&b or whatever - We prefer to call it Nu Folk, a term first coined by us. You heard it here first. Don't call it rock, it's got soul and a faith that while a good song will make you late for work, a great song will make you quit.So climb aboard and let's all go and get lost togetherxXx
"Ben Bailey continues his earnest attempts to add colour to workaday lives. With his band of musicians in tow, the happy trio intend to inspire complete abandonment as they rock up to this monthly Flook night with their unique brand of soul-filled indie.

RECORDER 27th March,His Lost Boys,Forget nu rave, there's a whole new sound whipping up a slightly less agitated storm in the capital at the moment - and it's coming from the east. It's the sound of "nu folk" and at the vanguard of this burgeoning new movement are the wonderful His Lost Boys, a quartet from Stratford/Hackney/ Stoke Newington, who are picking up a lot of attention from punters and critics alike, with even the odd major record label rumoured to be sniffing about. At the helm is singer, songwriter and guitarist Ben Bailey, formerly head honcho with Thee Unstrung, who enjoyed a brief flirtation with stardom back in 2005/6.Ben is joined on vocals by Dazy Pagan, while Stef Benson chimes in with the lowdowns on bass and Lewis Jones provides all manner of percussion from the sublime to the thunderous.Formed in August 2006, last year started well with gigs supporting the likes of Babyshambles and The Paddingtons, and The Urban Hooray EP being recorded. But then Ben was out of action with a burst appendix and the band lost two drummers. 2008 has brought renewed vigour and enthusiasm. As Ben puts it: "Call it indie, blues, R&B or whatever - we prefer to call it nu folk, a term first coined by us. You heard it here first. Don't call it rock, it's got soul and a faith that while a good song will make you late for work, a great song will make you quit
