Mourning Mary Celeste (formerly known as Dead in December) formed in late 2004 with guitarist Nate Lanes and bassist Joe Perez. By 2005 drummer Leroy Menahan and singer Dan Austin joined to complete the group. M.M.C. strives to make music that's both fulfilling to them and meaningful to their fans. The group pulls no punches and set no limits during their live performances, studio recordings, and writing of their music. Since the initial formation in 2004, Nathan and Joe have alternated roles of guitarist, bassist, and, on occasion, keyboard duties, while all four members contribute lyrically. There isn't an air of boundary or restraint, and that's exactly how they like it. They simply want to communicate and share that uabridged experience of music with their fans. With little more than the bare essential equipment for a live performance, M.M.C. has continued to move forward as a musical group. Although all demos have been done in the member's parents' basements (literally), the band has managed to make a name for themselves in their home state....."Dont fly to God's House, He'll Kill You!"
