Shay Estes

About Me

Shay Estes draws from a large and varied musical pallet, from the standards of Tin Pan Alley to Brazilian and Afro-Cuban favorites to adaptations of pop/rock selections by Lennon/McCartney, Tom Waits, Radiohead and more. Shay's deliberate and personalized delivery combine with contemporary arrangements by Mark Lowrey, Zack Albetta, Jake Blanton, Brad Cox and others to provide a unique and eclectic presentation of vocal jazz.

"Estes' daring renditions might forever replace the originals as the default reference point in listeners' memory banks."
-The Pitch, August 2004

"Shay Estes sings with a torch singer's heat and a jazz singer's soul and smarts."
-Kansas City Star, November 2008
