A short biography :
OBSIDE (David/guitar ; Raphael/guitar ; Jonathan/vocals ; Lucas/drums and Kristen/bass guitar) was founded in 2005 in Montpellier, in the south of France, by David, Raphael and John after their previous band called INVAIN had stopped due to the leaving of two of its members : Julien/bass guitar and Pierre/drums. From then on, the group has committed itself to composing. This year, the band has been working on its own sound, developing a more personal style with the arrival of Kristen/bass guitar and Lucas/drums.The word OBSIDE comes from the word obsidian, a dense volcanic glass, usually rhyolite in composition and typically black in color. It is also a contraction of the words OBscure and SIDE. Through its music, OBSIDE conveys strong feelings of fusion, like a volcanic glass strong feelings of darkness, anger and fear, facing both reality and virtuality of our fucking world strong feelings of hatred and incomprehension faced with human beings. At the crossroads of all these emotions, OBSIDEs work gives birth to a music which synthesizes each of their individual feelings, emotions and personalities. Their watchword: heavy and melodic, fast and slow, atmospheric and hypnotic and always special.The essence of their work is influenced by many artists, including GOJIRA, MESHUGGAH, TEXTURES, SCAR SYMMETRY, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND, SOILWORK, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, MUDVAYNE, PANTERA, CHIMAIRA, MACHINE HEAD, KORN, RAMMSTEIN, SEVENDUST, DISTURBED, OPETH, TOOL, etc.First album called "MORTAILES" is in the pipeline and should be available in September/October
