As you can guess I’m a photographer, or Tog.
I’ve been working as a Pro Tog for 3 years now.
I have a great deal of respect for fellow photographers, but I don’t take any influence from others’ work. I take great pride in this, and in doing so, my work will always stay individual.
I have never studied photography at college or university, yet I have carved a demanding career as a freelance photographer.
I can’t tell you the ISO level or shutter speed for a given situation, or what a perfect stop number is, so please don’t ask.
I have worked hard to get to the level of photography I can produce, and will always be learning more to improve my work.
Photography is my art. I see everything through a lens.
Because of my lack of tuition, I believe this is how I have achieved my own unique style; through trial & error, and years of practice.
I also believe that it’s not the camera that makes the picture, but the person taking it. I don’t think having a £300 or a £3000 camera will make any difference to the image captured in the eye of the person taking the photo.
A Photographer is not a Digital Artist or Graphic Manipulator; there is a huge difference. I do edit my images but only to the level that is available in any darkroom.
Although I use digital, my work is as raw as it can get.
I love live music but I like to keep an open mind and will shoot anything from fashion to corporate. I have been commissioned by some very well known corporate companies, and have had many images published in a variety of music magazines such as Kerrang, Rock Sound and Metal Hammer. My live work makes a constant appearance on websites such as www.planet-loud.com. I have also had several interviews in newspapers and on local radio stations.
I have my own studio unit in Wolverhampton, and I also use SOUL STEALERZ studio in Telford. SOUL STEALERZ is in my top friends, along with other photographers, bands and models who I have been very fortunate to work with, and who I highly recommend.
