The 3 joys of my life = My Music!!!My Fam!!!My God!!!As it says above, my names marcus courtney mcneish, and this band consists of me, me, and last but not least me lol trying to be everything i can be. As i see it lifes to short to live in the dark and let it waste away, so i’m gonna spend it doing what i love to do, making music.Why i love to sing?
I love to sing as at times it seems to be all i have to comfort me and strengthen me when times are hard. That’s not true but what it feels like, other than God, it’s my best friend and my escape from this world and all it’s hardships as well as being my connection to it, all the good like my family, (blood and spiritual), my friends, my dreams, and ofcourse , my God.
As far back as i care to remember music has played i huge role in my life, and from growing up within such a musical family it’s always seemed to me as though music and especially singing was written into my destiny. Now 18 years of age i can say comfortably that it feels as though i’ve been singing for what feels like an eternity perfecting my instrument (my voice), yet believe there’s much more to learn lol, i feel it’s about time i step into my destiny and use what God gave me to make a change, not only in my life, but in the lives of theres i love and care for, my monumentally for my mother and father, i love them truly. So many things they missed out on and oppurtunities they never saw, are laid bare before me due to what i consider i gift. Understand times have been hard and continue to be, but it only takes one who is prepared and ready to recieve what is due to not only them, but the labours of the many generations before them to make a change, and a history of the hard times,. That’s my goal! That, and heaven lol.My Style?
My style and direction is mainly soul and rnb, but i am truly on a neo-soul thang if not straight soul. Soul, Rnb, Funk and Jazz all wrapped into one, i love it. Right now my top artist is Rashaan Patterson, but saying that it’s easy to tell i’m a huge fan of Musiq Soulchild, as well as Jill Scott, D’angelo, Dwele and Omar, there’s a few more but these are the top 5. But to be honest i’m on trying a bit of everything. If the beats hot, it has a genuine direction, and lyrically can make sense, i’m on it! And not forgetting it needs to be original, i’m an artist and you can’t be an artist by copying.
