From the streets of New Orleans, rapper Devious aka Mr. Freestyle has paid his dues. As the producer of the classic "The Original Where They At?" by D.J. Jimi, Devious has been instrumental in the evolution of crunk, jig, and snap music. Starting back in the g with neigborhood friends DJ Lil Daddy, Fiend, Mellow Fellow, Untouchable, Mousa tha Produca, and Mr. Marcello, Mr. Freestyle and his homies took over. From that collabo reigned Fiend, Mr. Marcello, Devious, Mousa Tha Produca, Dj Jimi and Mellow Fellow. Years later, Lil Jon, Ceelo-Green, Nelly, Project Pat, and many others have sampled or rerecorded versions of the bounce classic from 1992. Also known for "Hey P-Poppers" "Street Life" "The Club Scene" feat. Bust Down, "That's How We Play it" by Drama(Dreezy) feat Lil Flip(produced by Devious) and "The Price is Yo Life" (Chico and Reno)Devious recently released The Mystery (My-Story) right after the plight of Hurricane Katrina. With Pop Ya Colla as his first single, Devious had no idea that dirty south rap stars Three-Six Mafia would come with a similar jam months later. "It's all coincidental." "Get The Club Crunk"(WQUE 93) took Devious to another level in Louisiana as it relates to the clubs. "Couldn't Have Done It Without You" was a winter radio jam(WQUE 93) for the entire family to vibe too. The brains behind the "Million Dolla Man" by his label mate T-Wheel featuring Fiend and Devious from the album "Guns and Butta". Check it out on Max 94.1 or at your local club or radio station. With a 5 year blitz in the game as of recent, Devious and Free-World Entertainment have dropped five hot singles within one year. Being blessed with a couple of regional Top 40 hits, the grind is getting stronger thanks to the fans and deejays throughout Louisiana and the dirty south.
