I grew up in the Piney Woods of East Texas. I was raised on hard core country and gospel music. I began playing rock music while still in school in bars and clubs in an around Longview, Texas. I decided to move to the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex. I ended up playing with a band called SAVVY. It was a great experience for me. I began to hone my craft with the rich supply of great musicians in the area. This led to my audition with the 1970's mega band "HEAD EAST". I toured with them for several years. After leaving Head East, I formed a couple more bands and continued to play in the metroplex. I decided in the late 1980's to try my hand at country. Everyone thought I was crazy, but it felt right. I had to get back to my roots. I began touring as a country act, and in the early 1990's, I got a record deal with Liberty. My first CD was the self titled "Ricky Lynn Gregg". My second CD was named "Get a Little Closer". My third CD was with RMG Records. It was titled, "Careful What You Wish For". I have been elected to the Native American Music Association's Board of Advisors. More recently, I have begun doing musical theater with Larry Gatlin, in his production of "Quanah and the Parker Family Saga". I continue to tour the US with my band Comanche Peak.I met my wife in early 1992. We lost touch when I moved to Nashville, but in 2001, we reconnected. We were friends that picked right back up from where we were. Never mind the fact there was a 6 year period since we had seen each other. It took us to 2003 to get it together. I asked LaCretia to marry me on December 3, 2003. She is the most remarkable woman. I have never been so happy. We live on a beautiful farm near Nashville, TN with our 9 dogs--Buster, Lily, Lucy, Junior, T-Bird, Dot, Elvin,Jesse and Ladybird, and our cats--CC, Seven, Speck, Bombay, Sapphire,Strikes, Little Jo, Hoss, Lovie, Tuxie, and Cricket. My wife is like Dr.Doolittle, and I am her helper. We love to garden and grow our own fruits and vegetables. We have our own church on our land with a trinity tree in the center of it. It is our place of solace.
