Sept-Oct 08-I've gone and left L.A which has been home for me for quite a few years now. It's a weird thing to do, move across the country-because it's kind of easy. I mean I got on the plane and I'm not really going back. I don't think I'll ever live there again. New York has released something electric in me, I'm excited about life and change and energized by the distance. between here and there. Summer is turning into Fall and I get to see it! It feels good and smells good. My keyboard is still in the box I shipped it in. I can't wait to open it. And I have one other box I shipped ahead of me and I can't remember everything in it. It's full of things like corks and trinkets from when Em and I lived in the shack, my favourite mugs and plates from the Goodwill in Los Feliz, a photograph of my dad when he was my age, wearing plaid pants and good shoes, legs outstretched, lighting a cigarette..once I'm moved in and settled, I guess I'll start to build all of the other elements of my life around it. Surely I miss friends, and playing music . But texts and emails seem to be sorting out the first, and for now I'll keep playing by myself (oh, I played a coupla songs in a little show--it was terrifying and I wasn't very good-really different than playing with four boys...), so I should get better at that until I find new folks to play with. :) so, yeah, turn the page

I grew up singing French folk songs with my dad, I was probably four when I got up on a little stage at his restaurant "Au Bon Appetit" for the first time and sang with him.
I lived in Toronto 'til I was about 16 when I started to travel and never really stopped. But I guess I've been in L.A for quite some time now- I wish I wasn't so anxious about a lot of things, I play in a band when we play as a band, Celtics, Red Sox, can't wait two years for the World Cup , I love it when someone grabs a guitar, I don't like being lied to, I love greek salad and french fries together, I love characters-people you just want to watch like a silent film, eccentrics and storytellers and children.. learning new, learning lessons, waking up, walking away if it does you no good.
