A few words from Geoff Wilkes (taken from OrangeJamConspiracy.com )
Geoffro-
"I was born in Providence, RI on June 13, 1987. I've been listening to the Greatful Dead since I have been in the womb, due to the fact that my parents are also Dead heads. I have been playing guitar since the summer folloing the fifth grade which was i believe the summer of 1998. I have had a little acoustic guitar since I was about three years old but I didn't get serious until that summer. As of right now I've been playing approximately 8 years, and plan on playing for the rest of my life, or at least as long as I possibly can.
I played in a band called 2% (not quite cream) shortly after getting my first electric guitar which was an Epiphone Les Paul Special II. That band broke up after about a year and i played in a band call Distorted Minds with Lee Wyman, and his cousin Chris Forcier. We played mostly misfits covers and i had a blast for a year or so in that band (HAHAHA). Both of these bands were fun but my first serious band was a punk band called All Gone Wrong, and we played mostly original stuff. We played out a lot and also had lots of fun. When I left this band i joined up with Orange Jam Conspiacy, which at the time still had no name, and began an awesome part of my life that will hopefully continue for many more years. The feeling I get when people tell me that they enjoy what we're doing, combined with feeling i get while actually playing is not easily described in words. As i matter of fact i wouldn't even know where to begin describing that feeling.
My Dad, Fred Wilkes is a great guitar player and also a great singer, and he taught me a lot of what i know. My dad and I built my favorite guitar, which is also the guitar that i play probably 90% of the time if not more. It is basically a Telecaster Thinline, but obviously not a Fender tele. It's a WILKES TELE!!! I LOVE it to death and hope to have it for the rest of my life. My dad has been extremely helpful regarding my equiptment and in my playing. I also play an Epiphone Les Paul custom, and always my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. I use the following effects:
Cry Baby Wah-Wah
Ibanez Tube Screamer
Boss Digital Reverb/Delay
Boss Sterio Chorus
Boss Compressor/Sustainer
Digtech Octoplus
My biggest influences are obviously my Dad, Fred Wilkes, the Greatful Dead (JERRY GARCIA), String Cheese Incident, Phish, Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, StrangeFolk, among many many others. I LOVE MUSIC more than anything else in this world and a day without music is like weeks without food or water.
I've had the most fun of my life playing in this band and I am extremely grateful that i get the opportunity to play good music wth my best friends, who also happen to be some of the better musicians around these parts my age. I am also extremely grateful that by choosing to learn how to play the guitar, and by getting into the band Protium (OJC ON HYDROGEN POWERED FUEL-CELLS), took us around the country to places like Hollywood, California, and San Antonio, Texas. In the next years will will be going to Palm Springs, California, and Honalulu, Hawaii. We got our pictures take by a crowd of photographer's while hanging out with Jane's Addiction's Perry Ferrel. I have recieved a scholarship for playing in Protium.
The past few years of my life have been unreal playing with this band. It's been the most fun I have ever had as well as some frustration that comes naturally with have relationships with people. The satisfaction and enjoyment of being able to play music that other people can also enjoy outweighs any negatives ten fold. I LOVE MUSIC AND I LOVE PLAYING MUSIC EVEN MORE!!!! Hope to see you at one of our shows taking part in our Orange Jam Conspiracy but as for now take care, and enjoy the rest of our website. (CHECK OUT OOUR UPCOMING SHOWS).
Peace,"

"Well you know I'm not Geoff Wilkes. I'm just a devoted fan of his trying to honor him and promote his amazing work. I just want people to know how much of an amazing Singer/guitar player he is. I've only spoken with Geoff a few times, but the few times that i have, he's always been nice and I'm never going to forget those moments.
I knew Dan Donahue also. He was close friends with my brother. From what I hear, Dan did everything. Everyone would be playing manhunt and they wouldn't be able to find Dan because he was fifty feet up in a tree. The last time I really saw Dan was at my brother's 16th Birthday party. Even then I could tell that he was one of the coolest people on the planet."
And don't forget, if you want me to put some of his songs on here, just tell me and I will try to get it on here.
