I have an attitude and know how to use it!

About Me

I am a semi-shy person who loves life, laughing, coffee, friends, good wine, and good food. The older I get the more introverted I get for some reason, and I sometimes wish I were more outgoing and spontaneous, although I love my personality and know I am definately one-of-a-kind. I love tasteful tattoos and have 3! I got them done at the shop where Miami Ink is filmed. I finally got dragged into the world of myspace and am looking to re-connect with my gals from Quest and IMAGO DEI and the fellas from Vanguard and FULL ARMOR, and all my old pals from Alton High. I am married to an amazing man and never knew a relationship could be so peaceful and fulfilling. I love my husband! I am a social worker for a state agency and love my job. I survived a cancer scare last year and have seen my life in a whole new light since my health crisis. I love to travel - I have been to Europe, Canada and Mexico, but would LOVE to go to Morocco or Trinidad. I love all kinds of music, but especially love to hear a live band play. I'm a drum corp junkie - especially for The Cavaliers or Phantom Regiment. I have a large extended family and am close to all my relatives. I attempt to try something new as often as possible, love dancing, working out (although I don't hit the gym as often as I should), sports (especially hockey) and I really want to just be happy with every area of my life. Who said you can't have it all?

My Interests

Being with friends, going to parties/throwing parties, traveling, dancing, remodeling/decorating my house, drum corp, going to concerts, & sports

I'd like to meet:

The only person I want to meet is Barbara Walters because she has had an amazing career and it all began in a time when women were seen as inferior, especially in the work place.

Music:

I love all genres of music from big band to ska, and rap to country - I jam with the best. For every life experience I have had, good or bad, music has been there as a soundtrack to my life. Some of my absolute favorite musicians/groups are: The Beatles, Pearl Jam, Frank Sinatra, Donny Hathaway, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Sam Harris, Live, John Legend, Dr. Dre, Aerosmith, DC Talk, Chicago, Ben Folds Five, Nirvana, Eagles, Eric Clapton, Kanye West, Rascal Flatts, Dave Matthews Band, Santana, Busta Rhymes, the list could go on and on. I also LOVE all the Broadway belters.

Movies:

I don't see a lot of movies at the theatre - mainly I can't stand a row of 8th graders making out in front of me or countless cell phones ringing in the theatre, but here are a few I could watch over and over again: The Notebook, Gone with the Wind, Blues Brothers, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Rent, Memphis Belle, Waiting for Guffman, Office Space, What Women Want, Pearl Harbor, The Sixth Sense.

Television:

I love HGTV, CourtTV, Judge Judy, Chappelle Show, Nick Cannon's Wild 'n Out, 30 Days, and my FAVORITE show was Reunion on Fox but they cancelled it! Now I'll never know who killed Samantha!!!!!!! (If you know, please tell me, seriously)

Books:

"The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd

Heroes:

My fabulous husband, Bethany, my parents, siblings, Cheryl, Margie, teachers and men & women who serve our country in the military
