Gelgoleth

About Me

Formed originally in 1994 as a project called Angmar, Twitch 23 experimented with various "found sound" and keyboard compilations, creating simplistic and often psychedelic noise pieces. As his musical interests matured he ventured further into the world of electronica and gothic industrial music. Inspired by bands like Skinny Puppy, Tones On Tail, Psychic TV, Frontline Assembly, Einsturzende Neubauten and by many literary influences from Aleister Crowley to Frank Herbert and Fyodor Dostoeyevsky, he shifted both musical and lyrical directions and renamed the project Gelgoleth. *
Some songs of a more "jam session" feel are relegated to the side project 7ft Crackhead. These songs tend to be between 15 to 35 minutes long and are usually more irritating than they are impressive. They have been created using Skinny Puppy's "brap" method of consuming mind altering substances, plugging in electronic instruments, and recording. The results are best enjoyed while on similar substances to those used during the recording.
Since that time Gelgoleth has remained a primarily private outlet of creative impulses for its principle band member and occasional guests.
The only recorded material released to date was on the compilation disc "Of Passion And Remembrance" released by I.D. Records.
* - This is an "inside joke" of an ironic nature, meant for anyone that knows Hebrew.
