About Me

Complex, but not complicated. Still figuring it all out. Trying to be the best I can be and make a positive impact. Living life and learning. My favorite quote of the moment:"Do you really think that it is weakness that yields to temptation? I tell you there are terrible temptations that it requires strength, strength and courage, to yield to. To stake all one's life on a single moment, to risk everything on one throw, whether the stake be power or pleasure, I care not--there is no weakness in that. There is a horrible, terrible courage. I had that courage." --Lord Goring in Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband

Literature, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Art, History, and... really pretty much anything and everything that makes life interesting.

I'd like to meet:

If I haven't already met you at some point in my life, I'm probably not going to add you. I know enough people. Plus, I can barely keep up with the friends I've got. Sorry.

Music:

Whatever coincides with my mood. That generally does not include country music or techno.

Movies:

the bicycle thief, boondock saints, cat on a hot tin roof, legends of the fall, a streetcar named desire, tombstone, butch cassidy and the sundance kid, casablanca, glory, west side story, the women, in america, it happened one night, and pretty much anything with jimmy stewart, cary grant, clark gable or paul newman. i see everything. i love films.

Television:

I don't watch TV.

Books:

The Picture of Dorian Gray, Anna Karenina, Tom Jones, War and Peace (still working on it), Sons and Lovers, Women in Love, Dracula, Candide, East of Eden, The Brothers Karamazov, Frankenstein, Siddhartha, Heart of Darkness, Native Son, and Manhattan Transfer (still working on that one, too) are some of my all-time favorites. I am usually reading 3 or 4 books consecutively... and I like it that way. Literature is totally underrated.

Heroes:

Eddie Izzard, Langston Hughes, Paul Newman, Oscar Wilde, Elizabeth I, Jackson Pollock, Malcolm X, James Dean, James Joyce, Jesse Owens, and Sherlock Holmes (is it weird that I put a fictional character in there?)
