The Debut album Kid Without Candy has recently been released by the Enigmatic Army
..
Sajid began playing guitar in school and realised the need to delve further into music . His first
band Killer Tomatoes (1998-2003) made headlines as soon as they started off, creating a buzz in
Delhi with charged performances and a blooming fan base. K.T. went onto winning Mood Indigo
(Bombay) and a string of other rock festivals in Pillani, Kanpur and Chennai. Success and acclaim
followed thereafter. Sajid went on to work with television media soon after.
An acute sense of observation coupled
with musical sensitivity made way for new inspiration. He stepped out to form a simplistic yet
evocative way to play his music. A careful blend of synthetic textures and electronic sound creates
a counter energy in his music.
Mira, the first song, recorded recently is a reflection of the
yearning for a perfect balance of acoustic guitar and moody lyricism The song is about feelings of obsessive and unrequited love. Love and life's bitter sweet
ironies are the central theme of Sajid's music.
His songs have appeared on compilation CD's such as Sahi Bol The Urban Transmission (HMV SaReGaMa) and The Traffic Jam.

"Sajid Akbars music is emotional, lyrical and a fresh change from what's ruling the Roost. The emotive brilliance of his music is unmistakably Sajid. Silent Movies is a great song" The Record
"The tempo of the album is set from the beginning with a Sajid Akbar number, Mira. Mira brings together a blend of acoustic guitar and electronic sounds in a sorrowful tune. A great track, it is one of the better numbers on this album in my opinion. Akbar's voice could very well be compared to the US folk singer Sufjan Stevens" NDTVMusic (For Sahi Bol)
'Sajid Akbar makes good music for a rainy Afternoon. Check out the flute solo on Pray For Rain and you might feel like settling into a big chair with a brew and watch the earth wash itself" Time Out, Delhi
"Sajid Akbar writes uncomfortable love songs. His soulful lyrics take you back to an era long gone by, and era of lovelorn romantic music. With Akbar, a new acoustic movement is here." The Indian Express
