About Me
Explode Studio opened in 1993 in Italy, as a simple home production facility (it was spelled "X-plode" then).
It shortly estabilished a name in the music business for an unprecedented quality of sound for a home facility. In 1996, after a series of national and European hits, Explode became a fully functional facility. Between 1996 and 1998 artists that recorded at our studio sold over 800.000 units in Europe alone (more info available).
In 1999 the studio was moved to Brooklyn, New York. It shortly gained a reputation in the local underground scene for outstanding quality.
It grew rapidly and in 2003 a decision to move to larger facilities was made. The location was a 2000 sqf old storage, used by a local furniture store.
The new facility was completely designed from scratch; first conceptualized on a lower scaled model and tested for sound efficiency on a computerized reproduction, then built with acoustics and artists in mind.
Explode Studio features a 14’x15’ control room and a 4’x5’ iso booth for vocal or instrument recording. Also, there is a lounge area right outside the recording room.
