Sounds Like:What would you get if you merged Jay-z with Tupac and Nas? Odds are, you'd come up with a quirky approach and insightful lyrics that might sound a whole lot like Jimmy "Dagent" Conway. Jimmy "Dagent" Conway may not be a well-known name around certain big cities…but it’s pretty likely you will hear his music on corporate "hip hop" radio stations. Nowadays, people are used to hearing a ‘commercial hip –hop’ sound that can be described as a ’50 Cent’ track or TI’s ‘You know what it is.’ Those same people will without a doubt become drawn to the highly eccentric tunes of Jimmy "Dagent" Conway’s American Seller. His music is pure and real. Brimming with an emotion that would almost capture practically any audience, Conway’s music fit right at home with the 15 Seconds Entertainment family. ‘Mr. Beat Broker,’ otherwise known as Kash Johns, found Conway’s modern approach to be brilliant because it is one that will stand the test of time. The mere quality of Conway's voice is as timeless as the rough-edged voices of other impossible-to-categorize artists like Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) and Nas. Conway’s music touches the soul through the impact of thought along with lyrics, and at the same time is direct and to-the-point. Conway was making hip hop music since the late1990’s. Hustling and fighting the everyday struggles of Brooklyn. New York , he found a release of negativity and anger through music. Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. were among the many influences from which he mimicked and traced in effort to create a modern day sound with fragments of ‘old school rap.’ By the early millennium the commercialization of "Hip Hop" Record companies was demanding a different sound, and Conway was already "before his time "and ready for that new phase that was about to explode. He wasn't out to be a "gangsta,". Instead, he continued forward with his own unique yet thoroughly traditional sound, and probably single-handedly shaped the American genre by releasing "Cold World" in 2000, a time when today's current American artists were still being called "commercial" or "hard core" artists It was the true sound which brought Conway to the attention of Kash Johns, who was so impressed with the 2006 single, Remake of "Cold World," he invited Conway to appear on the New Tv . show "dig it Or diss it . That old-time style of Rap” when Biggie and Tupac were still around”, was exactly where Jimmy "Dagent" Conway belonged. Unfortunately, Rap was going to change as much as hip hop music itself in very short order, and what should have led to some much-deserved recognition simply vanished under the enforced pop sounds and slick productions that characterized "hip hop" music throughout the nineties and 2kBut none of that has kept Conway from recording the music he does best. Consistently writing and performing with his timeless deep voice sound. And that timeless quality is captured perfectly with his upcoming release "American Seller • 1st Shipment" a special edition CD commemorating his induction into the Brooklyn Hip Hop Street Hall Of fame. Plain and simple Real Hip Hop music may never come back," But it will always have an audience that appreciates it. Jimmy "Dagent" Conway is possessed a quality required to speak for the ordinary everyman. His music speaks both to and for anyone who yearns for love, who speaks about life, and who wishes on stars
