Islands in the stream, that is what we are

About Me

We are three musicians specialising in good old-fashioned pop tunes and assorted songsmithery. Will is an Oxford-based songwriter with lots of old plinky keyboards stolen from SAGA cruises, Delia is a feisty soul singer from Cardiff, and Bernie is a multi-talented songwriting troubadour of Llama Farmers/Bear Hug fame.We have just finished putting together an album and are now plying our wares at various musical venues in Oxford and London, including storming our way through the Surface Unsigned music festival.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Delia Antoine (vocals) Bernie Simpson (vocals / guitar) Will May (keyboards / violin)
Influences: In no particular order: Cole Porter, Madonna, Joni Mitchell, Nick Cave, Bjork, Abba, Judee Sill, Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, Yazoo, Tori Amos, 10cc, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Baby D, Hercules and the Love Affair, Sam Sparro, Robyn, and Donny Hathaway.
Sounds Like: Gershwin meets Rosie Gaines. Marc Almond meets S Club 7. Cole Porter meets the Sugababes. Or a long-forgotten Christmas No. 1 from 1972, according to the Joe from RockRooms. Or a "more commerically acceptable Broken Social Scene", according to Surface Unsigned. Or Erasure. Or Beverley Craven's coked-up sister. Or perhaps none of the above.
Type of Label: None
