Videodiary Chapter IVideodiary Chapter II
Summoner started to write their sign in the metal scene in January 2001, as a Italian creature born by the melting experience of Giorgio at guitars, Stefano at keyboards, and Massimo at drums. Wondering for a male screamer and grunt stare, we met Paolo, the voice we were looking for, assessing the band line up with Lucas recruitment at bass. Working hardly together as a five pieces band, we collect in a short time the ideas for our musical proposal, developed in our first demo Summoner Sign.
It was well welcomed and reviewed by all the most, as you can read in the dedicated reviews below, allowing us to spread the mythological creatures wings who throned in the black art book both in the Italian paper and e-zine world both in the underground foreigner panorama.
We enhanced and supported it live performing in some well know Italian metal pubs and music hall, for example sharing the stage of Ombelico with Novembre guys, or playing in the Binario Zero together with Death Dies (ex Evol), or performing at Transilvania in Como, at La Sfinge in Brescia, at Ristoro in Venice, and at the Indian Saloon, near Milan, as Headliner in the Underground Summer Metal Festival 2002.
Then we have been hardly working some months to any ideas, pieces, suggestions that, as a natural consequence of our musical path, are now our second recording studio fatigues result, titled Winter Solstice, within we introduced our new fellow Ugo into guitar session to enhance powerful guitar sound and a new voice, female one, to add some melodic suggestion in our death style, played at that time by Nadia. We have recorderd it in the well known Alfa &Omega studios under the technical engineer supervision of Alessandro Azzali and then it has been published by BTOD and distributed by Masterpiece in Italy, Adipocere in France, Paengg in Germany and Irond in Russia. After the recording session our relation together with Nadia ended, and we have chosen Dalia as Summoner female session, to underweave with Paolo. We have been supporting our full length for nearly half collecting some positive feedback both at our live gig perfomances and several worlwide, helping us to reach the 32th rank in Japanese Hard and Heavy Hit List In June 2004 Paolo adventure in Summoner broke up , and now we proudly want to introduce Claudio (ex Apeiron and Reptile Tribute to Slayer singer).
With the new line up we started a series of concerts, as the ones with Opera IX and the Evening in Black IV Festival in Lugano (CH) with God Dethroned.
In September the band has done a mini tour in Belgium and in Switzerland, then we played as special guest with Orphaned Land in Milan on the 7th of October 2005.
During 2006 and 2007 the band lost the historic drummer Massimo and replaced him with Igor, an excellent musician coming from prog-metal scene. Year 2007 marked the substitution of both singers with the return of Paolo and the arrival of Valeria. Currently the band is ready to be back on the live scene and it's working at the songs for the new studio album.
