Short Fiction aka Dubwiser has been rocking parties and hyping crowds for the past ten years. Predominantly playing in western Canada, Montreal, The Yukon and South Korea. He built a reputation early on for having a very tasteful, ecclectic and versatile angle on blending funky ass heavy bass infused breaks. Although he has always had a penchant for booty shakin' broken beats, soulful diva flavaz and all tingz ragga, Short Diggity has been known to drop garage, tech house, downtempo, hip hop and DnB sets. Whether in tandum with Mr Fudge or on his own, this DJ always brings a high energy fast paced set that is sure to set the floor on fire and have the crowd hyped into a frenzy.
Cutting and scratching are tools in the arsenal that are brought out when the occasion calls for it. It is safe to say that Short Fiction is a solid all around dj and crowd favorite wherever he goes. A recent add to the Supermodified Agency roster allongside Mr Fudge, Short has been focused more on the production end of things as of late. Having recently finished a condensed sound school program ['The Frontside Records School of Audo Engineering and Sound Healing' in Kelowna BC] Dubwiser is working at fusing contrasting styles in an analouge to digital framework - on original cuts as well as a handful of remix projects. Keep yo' ears to the ground cause Dubwiser has lots of new solo projects on the go as well as a few solid collaborations and this year should prove to be the biggest yet.
Short has played shows allongside world calliber acts such as Barry Ashworth, Fort Knox Five's Jon H, Krafty Kuts, Myagi, Small Town DJ's, Mat The Alien, Czech, Kieth MacKenzie, Phil K, Lee Coombs, Lorin Bassnectar, Wreckage Inc, Audio Architect, Slip and Slide, Celcius, Hoola Hoop, Jello, Dave Saddler, and Momma Miche as well as many other talentd global electronic artists.Short Fiction's signature sound is a mix of many genres: Funky broken beats, fat bassline hooks, dub reggae, punk rock and soulful melodic flavor, mixed effortlessly into gritty-hard-dirty beats. Shorty demonstrates 'on the regular' that he is a talented artist who is top caliber. His scratching finesse and original production work places him at the top of his game...up to par with some of the world's heavyweight breaks dj's / producers.
