Mydian Gallery is not just a band. It’s the way of life of its components. Their experiences and their emotions transformed in music. All began back to 2005 when Manos met Mare, both artists, each one in his own way. Manos with a long music experience as a guitarist and solo singer and now experimenting in the digital audio world, Mare creative artist working in several different sectors, from movies to sculpture, from artworks to special make up effects. They talked a lot about making a band, they listened to music together, started sharing their lives until inspiration came. The band was officially formed, with Mare as the lead singer, Manos on the guitars and synthesizers, and finally completed with the entry of Pasquale as bassist of the band.
Since then the three enjoy themselves by making new-wave music like it’s meant to be, and the smart use of what the band’s equipment has to offer, produces a mix of the finest sounds. The Cure meet the Sisters Of Mercy, Siouxsie sings with The Mission, “…and also the trees†hear “The Soundâ€. The Mydian sound is not something new, but it’s not old too. They prefer call it “Modern Wave†fruit of their influences and son of their minds.
In 2006 the band participates in the short film “Creepy Entries†by writing a song for the credits and making the soundtrack. During the summer fo same year, Phoenix , father of the newborn Nomadism Records, discovered the band and their collaboration started with the Mydian’s participation to the “United Forces of Phoenix Vol.2†compilation, and they ignite the engine of their debut album “Lack of Light†out in November 2007. The band participates also in a tribute to the “Fields of the Nephilim†cd produced by Nomadism records. Phoenix is one of the most active fans and promises to be as helpful as possible to the band’s future needs.
Mydian Gallery have no place of origin and any place in time. It is just a trip in the past and a vision of the present, a reveal of images we all know but we so easily forget. Mydian Gallery is a gallery of portraits, it depends on the audience what to see in them, even in the lack of light.
