I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Phi Mu was founded as the Philomathean Society on March 4, 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Mary DuPont Lines, Mary Myrick Daniel, and Martha Hardaway Redding created the organization to develop a special friendship among women of the college with objectives toward the improvement of social, moral, and mental aspects of Philomathean women. The Philomathean Society became known as Phi Mu Fraternity in 1904. Today, more than 150,000 women are members of Phi Mu. Phi Mu is the second oldest collegiate sorority in the world.

Some Gwinnett Phi Mu Alumnae backstage with "Sister Hazel" at the concert in Suwanee, Georgia.

I'd like to meet:

To Phi Mus, Sisterhood is truly for a lifetime. More than 800 alumnae volunteer their time to the Fraternity. There are more than 300 Phi Mu alumnae organizations worldwide. They include over 150 alumnae chapters, advisory councils for collegiate chapters and chapter associations, organizations of alumnae from a specific collegiate chapter.

If you are an initiated sister (collegian and/or alumna)ask us about the "unofficial" Phi Mu Sisterhood List Serve. Comprised of Phi Mu sisters residing all over the world. A Virtual Chapter of sisters.

If you are a Phi Mu (Phi, Initiated Sister or an Alumna) and you need help with your resume, looking to network, socializing, a connection in a city/town anywhere in the US or Abroad (whether just moved to or you plan to visit)...........ask us for more information.
..

If you are a non-greek woman seeking a recruitment recommendation, we can write a recommendation for any chapter of Phi Mu that you may be interested in pledging. Recruitment recommendations are often required during some recruitments so please contact us with any questions. Recomendations must be received by the chapter prior to recruitment and it is a good idea to get them to the chapter prior to the start of school. Send us a message and we can assist you and we will tell you what is needed.

Heroes:

"Chance made us sisters... Love made us friends"
In our chain of years at college Every link is but a day Each is fastened to the other In a strong and steady way.
Each is bound by golden friendships Which are tied by memories true Added to the ring of fancies By the thoughts of our Phi Mu.
So when our whole chain is finished May it join and bind the ends And be firmly held together By this precious thought of friends.
--- Virginia Fugh, Phi Mu November, 1926
