About Me

such as appears to be the style these days i shall present the things i like/don't, like this:
michael likes:
music.
my music collection.
playing my favourite songs to some people at clwb and callaghans.
arguing/discussing the merits of my musical preferences.
people who are willing to eloquently enter into said discussion/argument.
buying paintings of rock and roll icons.
buying highly inappropriate guitars on ebay pretty much solely on the basis that they look quite nice.changing my moniker to suit my mood, michael or mike, you decide...
i dont like a huge amount.
michael doesn't like:
playing songs you love so many times over and over that they lose their joy.
pointless instruments in bands.
synths in particular.
s4c.
employment.
not being able to think of the things i dont like whilst updating my profile.
but i dislike even less so i suppose i have a healthy life balance.
it has been said that i don't have a soul. this is true.
it has also been said that i look like my mother. i have done some rudimentary medical research and i find this highly reassuring and genetically probable.
i've tried to like obscure music that only 7 people in the world have ever heard. but it just doesnt work.
i like indie pop. and i am none to keen on this electronic business knocking about at the moment. guitars, drums, bass. done. synths? no thank you.
i am polite when i turn down instruments.
i do however make an attempt to listen to bands that other people tell me i should like. but usually it doesnt work. radiohead for instance.
songs should never really be longer than 3 minutes unless they have a very good reason to be. i.e. if it was 3 minutes long, you'd put it on repeat cos its that good.
2 minutes is even better-make your point and leave.
the libertines are my favourite band.
since you ask.
i have a top 4 favourite bands, which i will tell you if you ask nicely.
i have tried but i cant narrow down the fifth spot.
i own a pair of converse with some pink on them. i enjoy the eyebrows they raise and the ensuing argument as to whether a boy should ever wear pink.
the answer is yes, sometimes, on his feet.
i like a drink.
i like a dance. some people dont believe this as i am quite discerning as to when i dance. as opposed to when i drink, which has much fewer boundaries.
im often told that im mean to my friend george brewer. this is true but only because im not interesting enough to generate my own anecdotes so i have to rely on his incredible antics to gain prestige and gravitas at the dinner parties i sometimes gatecrash.
graham is a leg end.
i love the little man-especially his bonzai legs.

My Interests

rock and roll, sporting pursuits and fine wine.

I'd like to meet:

a look a like of me so i could send him/her (you never know) to social engagements in my place.
they wouldnt need to be identical. just similar. people would generally be too polite to say anything.

Television:

planet earth, ray mears, black books, thunderbirds, the blue planet, o'shea's big adventure, takeshi's castle, never mind the buzzcocks.

Books:

carlos barat.
keith moon.
george brewer.
