alk2coverfrontreaz1.jpg[/IMG]1987, in the grimmy streets of Baltimore a prince is born. The prince of the city aka Testme (formerly Lil Jesse) had a rough start to life. Drugs running rampit in the streets hits Lil Jesse too close to home. So close in fact that he had to hit the blolck and learn to take care of himself from a young age. So many thoughts in his head, but would anyone listen? At age 10 he couldnt hold these thoughts in anymore and discovered rapping them actually made people listen. He became such a phenomenon; such a little kid rapping, so fast, non stop, with no end in sight that by the age of 13 he was offered a record deal at a Baltimore based label Teflon Records. At Teflon he got his first experience writing his raps down and recording in the studio instead of just freestyling. Unfortunately, the label folded due to legal issues. But Jesse wasnt stranded. The interest in him was so plentiful he would hop around from group to group studio to studio. At the age of 14 he premiered on Deep Flow Entertainments first compilation album and has been featured on every Deep Flow project since. He began getting on shows as a solo artist and freestyling and cyphering with everybody he ran into. He earned the name TestMe. From this exposure a local buzz and fan base grew fast but he was still looking for the right group to grow with as an artist. He found that group while recording in a basement studio his manager at the time, Tony brought him to. Two artsits Fat Smoke and Zon Stacks were recording a song letting youngings jump on. When the youngings couldnt cut it, they asked Testme to jump on. He spit a verse and the rest is history. U.A. MoBB/Kumiti now became his click. He was 15 years old. TestMe had been hated on in school by other rap artists for his talent, ambitions and all the girls who flocked to him. But once in the group everything was everything and da other yonugest member of da Mobb, Kell$ finished off the
" Youngings InCharge" Branch of U.A. MoBB/Kumitit.
In 2005 the group got on the industry grind releasing their first mix tape hosted by P-Cutta Just Us vol. 1 which sold 6,000 copies in Baltimore alone. They began performing at every possible club and venue from DC to Baltimore and collaborating with other locals doing it big Bossman (So-So Def/Virgin, Verb of Dirty Hearts 106.Prk freestylist, etc). TestMe began having solo features on local DVDs and mix tapes. One of these projects Darkroom Productions brought a photographer from Fader Magazine who was so impressed with TestMes look she came out personally to photograph him in the studio. On another occasion he was approached by a producer of HBOs The Wire who told him he is very photogenic and needs to be featured on the show. So TestMe is featured on Season 4 of the Wire due out this year.
TestMe has become a top rated artist on www.DeepFlowRadio.com which has listeners and voters all over the county and even the world. He is now working on his solo album TestMe Talk and continues to make moves with his group. He has started putting his hands in the production of his own songs and sees himself becoming more of a producer eventually and has a goal of his first album going platinum and staying consistent therefor after. He knows this will take many talented producers to get behind him and a strong record label to promote and distribute his music and in 2006, he has started the hunt.
