I'd like to meet:
Someone who is brave enough to let the past go, and have faith that the future knows where to take them. Someone who is just as strong as I am. Someone who won't let me, or anyone else hold them down.
"Men speak conveniently of love when it serves their purpose."
Marian: You came for me... You're alive...
Robin of Locksley: I would die for you.
Music:
I love accoustic guitar.

Colossians 3:1-4
"Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory."
Songs of Solomon 8:6
"Place me like a seal over your heart, or like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, and its jealousy is as enduring as the grave. Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame."
Jeremiah 20:9
"But if I say, "I will not mention him
or speak any more in his name,"
his word is in my heart like a fire,
a fire shut up in my bones.
I am weary of holding it in;
indeed, I cannot."
Psalm 138:3
As soon as I pray, you answer me;
you encourage me by giving me strength.

Theme for English B
I wonder if it's that simple?
I am twenty-two, colored, born in Winston-Salem.
I went to school there, then Durham, then here
to this college on the hill above Harlem.
I am the only colored student in my class.
The steps from the hill lead down into Harlem
through a park, then I cross St. Nicholas,
Eighth Avenue, Seventh, and I come to the Y,
the Harlem Branch Y, where I take the elevator
up to my room, sit down, and write this page:
It's not easy to know what is true for you or me
at twenty-two, my age. But I guess I'm what
I feel and see and hear, Harlem, I hear you:
hear you, hear me---we two---you, me, talk on this page.
(I hear New York too.) Me---who?
Well, I like to eat, sleep, drink, and be in love.
I like to work, read, learn, and understand life.
I like a pipe for a Christmas present,
or records---Bessie, bop, or Bach.
I guess being colored doesn't make me NOT like
the same things other folks like who are other races.
So will my page be colored that I write?
Being me, it will not be white.
But it will be
a part of you, instructor.
You are white---
yet a part of me, as I am a part of you.
That's American.
Sometimes perhaps you don't want to be a part of me.
Nor do I often want to be a part of you.
But we are, that's true!
As I learn from you,
I guess you learn from me---
although you're older---and white---
and somewhat more free.
This is my page for English B.

Books:
Something that will make me think. I'm a philosopher, I'm a lover, I'm a fighter. Give me something that will help me as a person in everyday life, not something that will take me away from it.
Heroes:
My definition of a hero is not someone who does a good deed, and achieves fame for their actions. But someone who goes out of their way to help someone else everyday, regardless of themselves. I am so blessed to have so many heroines in my life. I love you all dearly.
